SYMBIOSYST Position Paper on Agri-PV

SYMBIOSYST Consortium is delighted to announce the release of a position paper on Agri-PV.

Photovoltaics is widely seen as one of the key technologies to drive the energy transition, yet due to different reasons large utility-scale photovoltaic installations in open fields are not an option in many regions. Here Agrivoltaics, making dual use of land for both agriculture and PV generation, is our future challenge, yet the existing deployments of a large variety of novel agrivoltaic projects and the diverse range of interpretations and definitions for Agrivoltaics is causing huge debate in many economic and socio-cultural fields.

The Project Consortium – comprising 18 partners from all over Europe – decided to provide the audience with their position on the current Agrivoltaics debate in Europe.
