We are glad to invite you to next training webinar organised by the Symbiosyst project and the European Agrivoltaic Network on the 24 July 2025, from 16:00 (CET).
Description:
Agri-PV systems require systemic design approaches and fully multi-disciplinarity and trans-disciplinarity!
To pursue in such challenge the engagement with the local community is fundamental. Local community engagement is widely used in disciplines that study and design the landscape in order to collect and incorporate the knowledge, the expertise and preferences of local actors and stakeholders. Local community engagement has been successfully applied in the planning and design of renewable energy plants in the landscape, in particular wind and solar.
Agri-PV systems research and implementation is in an early stage and there is a need to empower the main actors and stakeholders, first of all farmers, with the available knowledge. Yet in literature, apart from studies in social sciences investigating social attitudes towards agri-PV systems, there are no examples of approaches and methods in design to incorporate such knowledge in agri-PV systems projects.
The aim of this webinar is to open insights on community engagement in designing agri-PV systems as social-ecological systems by two speakers: a social scientist investigating the social acceptance of agri-PV and an ethic developer making using of co-design approaches to develop agri-PV.
