The SYMBIOSYST Project is pleased to announce a new series of field visits aimed at showcasing innovative approaches to agrivoltaic systems and their integration into diverse landscapes across Europe.
These site visits are designed to foster dialogue, share knowledge, and engage local communities and stakeholders in the co-design of sustainable energy-landscape solutions. They also serve as key moments to test and develop participatory tools that support the integration of renewable energy into agri-environmental systems.
📍 First Field Visit – Ora/Auer, Italy
Date: 14 June 2025
The first stop on our journey will take place in Ora/Auer, South Tyrol, where participants will have the opportunity to explore the surrounding landscape, visit the recently completed agrivoltaic demonstrator, and engage in discussions with project partners and the local community. The event will highlight strategies for aligning solar energy generation with local agricultural practices and environmental values.
📍 Second Field Visit – Barcelona, Spain
Date: 22 November 2025
The second visit will focus on peri-urban solar solutions in the metropolitan area of Barcelona. This event will delve into issues of multifunctional land use, urban sustainability, and the role of agrivoltaics in advancing the energy transition in urban and peri-urban contexts.
These events reflect SYMBIOSYST’s commitment to inclusive, locally grounded innovation and to creating models of agrivoltaic integration that are both technically effective and socially acceptable.
