On November 22, the second field visit took place and the second co-design workshop for local and regional stakeholders was tested in Viladecans, Catalonia.
The day started with a landscape immersion open walk to discover the local agri-environmental system where the agrivoltaic demo project is set. It was an immersive exploration of the Agrarian Park of Baix Llobegrat, and alla participants had the chance to take the lead and narrate about the local landscape: local farmers were taking the floor in some occasions, supported by Symbiosyst ETA-Florence and UPC team.
Participants also visited the agrivoltaic demonstrator project currently planted with broccoli and winter lettuces in Agròpolis, where they learned about the installed system and its way of working.
In the afternoon, we met for a co-design session in Agrotech UPC facilities, where local and regional community members and stakeholders took part in a workshop to exchange principles related to energy, agricultural, ecological, recreational and visual qualities.
Together, they explored how agrivoltaics systems could be integrated in the local landscape and provide positive externalities in terms of ecosystem services supply.
This participatory method draws on the values of the European Landscape Convention, fostering collective understanding and a shared commitment to shaping the environments we inhabit.
The initiative was supported by and part of the Landscape Biennial of Barcelona and supported by the Municipality of Viladecans and the Agrarian Park of Baix Llobregat.
A huge thank you to all participants and collaborators:
